The Society's purpose is to preserve the history of Yucaipa Valley and be a repository for collections, artifacts, records, pictures and writings that depict the valley's history, thereby promoting and fostering the cultural growth of this community.  All this is maintained by volunteers and public donations.

Afternoon meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month at 1:30p.m., September through May.

The Yucaipa Valley Historical Society is a California non-profit public benefit corporation, founded in 1977 and incorporated on July 25, 1984.  The building housing our museum is the Mousley Museum of Natural History located at 35308 Panorama Drive in Yucaipa.  Originally built by Louis B. Mousley to display his collection of shells, gems and minerals, it eventually was dedicated as a branch of the San Bernardino County Museums in September, 1970.  The Yucaipa Valley Historical Society acquired control of the museum in 2005 and is presently converting it to a museum of the history of the Yucaipa Valley.  The old museum was located at  35130 Avenue A, Yucaipa, an old California Department of Forestry Fire Station currently under renovation (California Point of Historical Interest #SBR-021).

Everyone is welcomed!
