After repairing and repainting Mousley Museum, the society has begun building exhibits and filling display cases.  It has completed 30 cases and is working on 10 more. When the displays are done, there will be 81 exhibits with four portable ever-changing displays in the middle of Presentation Hall.

The displays start on the north wall with the community’s First People and continue clock-wise throughout the building through the Mexican Era, through gold mining to the community’s first pioneers.  Lugo Hall includes artifacts and displays of the 1800s. Lugo Hall is near completion.

Dunlap Hall is currently being painted and the curating team is cataloging the artifacts from the turn of the 20th century through the 1940s.  Yucaipa’s famous Spider Woman display and the first post office artifacts should prove to be popular when they are finished.

Crafton Hall already includes a display of Crafton Hills rhodonite.  There are still cases to be repaired and painted, but some work has already begun.  Crafton Hall will cover the 1950s and continued to Yucaipa’s incorporation in 1989.

The museum is open and visitors are welcome to see what is completed and even assist in the endeavor to finish the displays.
